Lucas’ Army Foundation · Fonda, New York
Lucas loved lacrosse, his Meta Quest, and making people laugh — especially his brothers, Logan and Andrew. He fought leukemia with a grin until he was 12. Today, his family makes sure no child at The Melodies Center faces cancer without an army behind them.
Every dollar reaches a family at The Melodies Center.
Their fight is our fight
What we do
Lucas’ Army Foundation was created by Lucas’ family after watching, first-hand, everything a childhood cancer diagnosis asks of a household — the bills that keep arriving, the siblings holding it together at home, the long hours in a treatment chair.
So we do the practical things and the joyful things: pay what needs paying, deliver comfort into a child’s arms, and surprise kids with the thing they’ve been talking about all month. Help goes directly to families at The Melodies Center and the partners who care for them.
Support we offer
From the mailbox to the hospital playroom, all year long.
When a child is in treatment, a parent’s place is at the bedside — not at a second job. We cover the bills that can’t wait.
Lucas’ weighted dinosaur went to every appointment with him. We make sure every child has that same steady companion.
Long treatment days deserve big bright spots. We grant the wishes kids talk about between appointments.
Brothers and sisters fight this battle too. Lucas’ brothers, Logan and Andrew, taught us that — so siblings are never an afterthought.
We stock the units where kids spend their hardest days with things that make those days a little lighter.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with the team that cared for Lucas and the organizations serving families like ours.
Families we’ve helped
Behind every event and every dollar is a family who felt a little less alone.

Neuroblastoma · Age 10
Jazzy is only 10, yet she has spent most of her life fighting Neuroblastoma. Seven long years of strength, resilience, and courage far beyond her age. Her tumors are growing and she recently underwent brain surgery — but her light still shines. We were honored to surprise her with the pink iPhone from her wish list, along with video game and shopping gift cards for her brother and sister.

T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia · Age 10
In June of 2024, 9-year-old Charlie was diagnosed with T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Today he is 10, in the maintenance phase of treatment, back in school, and thriving. We had the honor of surprising him with a golf set from his wish list — and his brothers, Inman and Salvatore, with gift cards, because siblings matter too.

T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma · Age 21
In August 2024, Annika was diagnosed with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma at just 19 years old. She is expected to complete treatment in January 2027, and we cheer her on every step of the way. We surprised her with a brand new pair of boujee Versace sunglasses, so she could treat herself to something beautiful and fun. Annika, we hope they make you feel as strong and beautiful as you truly are.

B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Hunter was diagnosed on May 31, 2023, and has shown us all what it means to fight — and he is scheduled to finish treatment. We surprised him with a gift from his wish list and gave his parents, Heather and Jerry, a gift card to help with groceries and gas. The Rose family stood beside us from day one when Lucas was diagnosed; it is an honor to now stand beside them and celebrate this victory.

Stage 4 Desmoplastic Round Cell Tumor · Age 16
At just 14, Arianna was diagnosed with stage 4 Desmoplastic Round Cell Tumor. Today, at 16, she is still fighting with incredible strength and resilience. She is truly an inspiration. We were honored to surprise her with the pink iPad she had been wishing for, and to support her mom, Unique, with a gift card to help with everyday burdens like groceries and gas.

Undifferentiated Sarcoma · Age 9
At just 9 years old, Dylan is facing Undifferentiated Sarcoma with a strength no child should ever have to show. We were able to surprise him with his very first Meta Quest VR headset — the same comfort and escape it once brought Lucas during long hospital stays. We also surprised Dylan’s sister, Maddie, with a gift card. Siblings walk a quiet, often unseen journey, and they deserve to feel just as loved.
